ABOUT US
My dog story began after graduating from Chiropractic School in 2004 when I began a small breeding program of MiniatureAustralian Shepherds in Ohio. I was blessed to have my grandfather Larry Dickey as a mentor, he was a NAHVDA judge for field trials, and was one of the original importers and breeders of Italian Spinone hunting dogs in the United States.Almost 10 years ago, I followed my dream of moving to Texas and opened a chiropractic office in North Texas where I provide horse and rider chiropractic. I love my life of being a successful chiropractor, horse competitor, and loving dog mom! I’ve been breeding Australian Shepherds for nearly 20 years and began into doodles nearly 10 years ago with a dog named Patches that came into my life, changing it forever. Patches was a stunning blue merle, with an amazing temperament, amazing show lineage, and the sweetest personality but she had too much white coloring to be considered breed standard as an Australian Shepherd. It was my husband Kris that had the idea of breeding Patches to a Poodle. I’ll admit I was reluctant at first to breed my genetically tested, champion-sired Australian Shepherds to a Poodle, but I thought it would be a great cross for families that wanted a fun-loving Aussie without the shedding. This was our start into breeding the AMAZING Doodle cross. I still own Patches mother Hallie, one of my original AustralianShepherds. Hallie is 13 years young, exceptionally healthy, and 110% spoiled. We have changed our focus to breeding quality AKC poodles, Bernese Mountain Dogs, and Bernadoodles. My goal at Doodle Dynasty is to provide healthy, good-tempered, family pets. The initial investment of a family pet is just the beginning of a 10-15 year investment. We want to provide healthy dogs that will be an important part of your family. I’m blessed to be able to raise these wonderful dogs and share them with you.
As we continue to expand our dog family, we still plan to remain a relatively small breeding program. Because we are a small program, we only have a few litters each year. As you can imagine, we live an active lifestyle with our horses and dogs. Raising our dogs is very important to us and we only plan litters when we know we can give our dogs and puppies the quality of time AND care they need and deserve.
We are committed to only breeding for the right reasons- to share our love for these breeds and help families choose the pet that is right for them. While researching which breed to add to your family- ASK QUESTIONS, check references, speak to the breeder and build a relationship based on mutual trust.
We truly enjoy every aspect of the process and are literally watching generations of dog that I have raised with their loving new families. It starts with choosing the right breeding dogs, delivering and raising puppies, socialization and training...to meeting and selecting loving families to pass the torch to. We want families to
trust that WE are the ones raising these puppies- not hired help like many large scale breeders. My goal is key to raising mellow, well-socialized and loving , family puppies.
Since we do not have many litters, our wait lists are to filling up fast! Keep this in mind while searching for the right breeder, program and puppy! We understand that timing is important for planning, and all of our families must understand we are at the mercy of our females! Should you decide to adopt from us, we appreciate your flexibility and understanding when "nature" has other plans and our timing runs a bit off schedule!
